Many rural and urban churches are floodlit by night to dramatic effect serving as a reminder and providing comfort to many that the church building is very much alive and an integral part of our community.

 

Are you interested in floodlighting the church for someone?

 

Did you know that you can sponsor the floodlighting of St Mary’s Church to mark a special day or anniversary? For a donation of just £20, the church can be floodlit each evening for the month of the special occasion.

 

As a romantic gesture, a thank you, a birthday surprise, a wedding anniversary or a poignant memorial to a loved one who is no longer with us, sponsoring the floodlighting not only lights up the Steeple Bumpstead skyline but also supports the work of the church.

 

You can also choose to have a message displayed on this website (see below), in a dedicated book inside the church and, with your permission, the details of the date and the occasion will also be published in the Village Magazine – The Yellow Book.

 

St Mary’s is very much a focal point in our village. Gifts such as these enable us to maintain our historic and much loved church for future generations to enjoy and worship in.
