We are delighted to announce that the Rev Jonathan Lowe, currently Assistant Curate in the parish of the Icknield Way Villages, has accepted the invitation to become Priest-in- Charge of the parishes of St Andrew’s Helions Bumpstead and St Mary’s Steeple Bumpstead.
The Rev Lowe, his wife Theresa and two children (7 and 14 years old) will take up the post at the end of June 2013.
Prior to his ordination the Rev Lowe was in the insurance business and held some senior posts in London. As a young man he spent some time in the Army. He maintains an army connection as a Chaplain with the Territorial Army locally. He was for many years a choirmaster in his parish church near Colchester and plays a number of instruments.
Theresa is a lay reader and is very involved in their current parish and is also musical. Their eldest daughter attends Saffron Walden County High and their youngest daughter has been enrolled in the primary school here in Steeple Bumpstead.
The Licensing of the Rev Lowe by the Right Reverend Bishop of Colchester will take place at St Mary’s Steeple Bumpstead on Tuesday 25 June 2013 at 7:30pm with the Installation by the Venerable Archdeacon of Colchester.
